Heya playas with the meteoric rise of Grumpy Cat, it's lead me to question why
people loved this meme so much. The main conclusion I drew was not because he's
cute and cuddly but because the majority of people just connect to feeling grumpy.
I guess a good follow-up question would be, why do we enjoy negative things?
We're just drawn to violent news stories, the problematic lives of pregnant teenage
girls and stuff like "The *** Girl".
None of these things help our lives so, why do we spend so much time consuming them?
The reason is that contrary to these weird and random things that
happen, our lives are pretty simple and boring. Most of us slave away at
mediocre jobs or sit around in classes learning things that we know are not
going to be useful to us in the future. And all of that makes us bitter. We begin
to think that this is the normal system and that normal system kinda sucks.
Let's be honest it's so much easier to complain about being things than to actually
make the effort to change them. Changing things is so much work!
So when someone comes along doing something that they want to do, we feel
like their chips are stacked
higher than ours and that makes us feel inferior. We start to question our
own ability to accomplish things, maybe were not good enough? But wait there is
a way out of this. What we'll do is focus our attention on the people who have it worse
than us so we feel better about ourselves. Uh... there they go again,
complaining about nonsense on Facebook.
let's see what their other status updates say. No, no, no, no, no... the only
reason I watch Honey Boo Boo is because it's so awful, not because I actually enjoy it. The
reason Grumpy Cat is so popular is because deep down...
he's you. He responds in the way that you only wish you could sometimes. Being
facetious,
being snarky,
being... grumpy.
And while I love Grumpy Cat, what I don't like
is grumpy people. I've heard so many people try to justify their grumpy
behavior with these exact excuses. Well that's just the way it is, people get
older and they just get grumpier. Deal with it. No, I'm not being negative I'm
being a realist. Well excuse me for being the mature one and not being happy all the
time like you. Maybe it's just me but I don't think any situation calls for
you to have to be grumpy. Most if not all of us who live in developed countries
have homes with running electricity and water. If we want food, it's readily
available at pretty much
all times of the day. And no matter what issues you may have, their is someone
out there who's willing to listen to you.
So why are we all so
grumpy?
All I know is that we take a lot for granted and just because Grumpy Cat is
grumpy doesn't mean you have to be.
As always guys, love
and peace.
Thank you for watching, now what I want you to do is leave a comment below letting me
know something that pisses you off.
I'll be more than happy talk about it in the comments section below because, maybe
I'm just a dreamer but I believe in an ideal world where we can
communicate and have open dialogue and have people just be happy with each other.
Is that too much to ask for?
