I got my first job as a nanny when I was working at a salon and I was thinking about cutting
back my hours a little bit. I was working there a lot, and I still wanted to do a little
something on the side, but I didn't want to have to sit at that salon all day. So the
owner of the salon was saying how she has two kids. I've met the kids, I love them,
they come into the salon every now and then. And she was saying how she wasn't going to
have a nanny anymore and she needed one. And we were talking about it and it really fit
my hours well and the pay was good. I didn't have to do a lot of running around or anything
like that besides running after the kids. But so I cut down my hours at the salon and
I've been working for her ever since and I love it. I love it so much. From there, I
thought maybe I should start looking for more families and the mom that I worked for that
was the owner of the salon had a bunch of friends that was either pregnant or just gave
birth or had a couple month old babies, so she started giving my number out and I started
getting calls and I started working for them. Cut back more hours at the salon and I love
working with kids. It's really fulfilling the needs that I have. So I have about five
or six families that I work for now, about nine or ten kids so and I have now a little
four week old baby that I just started watching, so it keeps building. Just keep yourself out
there and keep your number open and there you go. It just comes to you.
