To edit a Google Doc, you will need to be signed in to your Google account.
From the main screen, select ‘Documents’ from the top navigation bar.
Once clicked, a new screen will open showing
all the documents that are available for you to edit.
These include the documents that you have previously created,
as well as any documents that others have given you permission to edit.
Select the document you wish to make changes to
by clicking on the document’s name.
In Google Docs, edits are performed much like they would
be done in a traditional word processing program.
Formatting changes, such as text styles,
colors,
list formats,
indentation,
and alignment,
can be created by clicking the buttons located at the top of the Google Docs window.
If you are unsure which button performs what function,
you can hover your mouse over the button to see what it does.
To edit the text of the document,
make changes to the body of the text as usual.
Click where you would like to place an edit and
add, delete, or modify your text.
Need to undo your last edit?
Just navigate to the ‘Edit’ tab located at
the top of the Google Doc window and select Undo.
Because Google Docs saves your edits automatically,
there is no need to manually save the changes to the document.
Before you close your browser or navigate away from the page,
make sure that Google has saved since your last change
by reviewing the Save status above the document’s format buttons.
