Hello my name is Lori Randall with Simply Divine Events and I am a wedding planner.
I have been planning weddings and events for ten years. Next I am going to talk to you
about how to choose a menu for your cocktail hour. For your cocktail hour you want to kind
of think of something with light foods, something that just kind of keeps people to just tie
them over until they go into the reception and you are going to want to think about again
this is a casual beach themed wedding so you are going to want to kind of keep your cocktail
menu involved with your theme. You are going to want to keep everything flowing and staying
within your theme. Some ideas you might want to think about are doing a raw bar, maybe
having a raw oyster bar, crab legs, shrimp and you can even maybe just lay that on a
nice ice display maybe you would have the monogram of the bride and groom, or you might
even want to do something like a martini glass or a palm tree or some sort of ice sculpture
and kind of lay that on or it could be something as simple as a nice silver tray and you have
got some ice and you are laying some of your raw bar in there. Another thing to think about
that you might want to do is fruit. Fruit and cheese are really big for your cocktail
hour and you might want to instead of just having a fruit and cheese platter, you might
want to have an actual display and display it with your pineapples and your oranges and
kind of think of your citrus fruits and that sort of thing and maybe making it into like
a tree, like a palm tree look or fish or a lot of these caterers and chefs are getting
like really creative and they can make fruit look like anything and it can actually be
a display or a centerpiece on the table and kind of dress it up a little bit to stay with
your casual beach theme, so those are some tips and some ideas to think about when you
are choosing your cocktail hour menu.
