Finding articles on IOPscience is easy. You can start with a general search by entering
a word into the Quick Search tool, and then use the filter boxes to refine your results.
You can filter by a specific PACS code, date, subject, or journal and author OR type in
an additional search term in the Full Text Search box.
Notice how the results counter updates by choosing different filters.
If you choose Filter Now you can return just these results.
You can also choose to export the results using your preferred method.
You will notice that, across the top of the page, the search process has been recorded,
so you can easily see how you reached your results. The RSS button allows you to set
up a web feed to notify your chosen RSS reader when any new articles that match these specific
search criteria are available. As well as RSS feeds, there are links here to save your
search and create a search alert. Returning to the original results page you
can see that there are two extra results sets available next to the IOPscience results.
One is for e-prints taken from eprintweb.org, and one is for news and analysis results from
other IOP Publishing websites. In this way you can use IOPscience to search
relevant e-prints. These e-prints are taken from eprintweb.org, a free service based on
archive.org from Cornell University Library. You can easily see how many e-prints match
your search. You can click on an e-print to view the abstract on eprintweb.org, or go
straight to archive.org to view the full text. News and analysis articles come from other
IOP Publishing websites. You can read the introduction of the article or go straight
to the full text.
