OK, now we want to talk a little bit about steps that you can take if you’re going
to let your tractor sit for an extended period of time and not run it. There are a few things
that you want to do to avoid problems when you come back in the spring for instance to
run the tractor. One thing that you want to do to prevent your clutch from seizing is
to block your clutch pedal down. This tractor has a little lever that allows us to do that.
If your tractor doesn't have that feature. There are other ways you can do it with a
piece of wood or something to hold that clutch pedal down. Another thing that you want to
think about is your diesel fuel. Diesel fuel can hold moisture especially in winter months.
Condensation can build up in the tank and that moisture in your fuel is not good for
the fuel system. So you'll want to add a diesel fuel additive with C Tane boost something
like Power Service is a brand that we typically use. That will prevent that moisture from
building up in your fuel and keep your fuel system more healthy. You'll want to run the
tractor after you add that fuel additive. Run it until the tractors warm get make sure
you've got that treated fuel throughout the fuel system. Moving forward here the radiator
is something that is particularly important and again before you run the tractor you'll
want, you'll want to do this. You want to make sure that you have a proper mix of water
and antifreeze in your tractor for the temperatures that you’re going to encounter. Antifreeze
also has a rust inhibiting characteristic to it that's important when the tractors sitting.
Lastly you want to put a charge on your battery and then disconnect the battery terminals
after you've finished this whole process to avoid discharging the battery as it sits.
Those are just some real basic steps that you can take to make sure that your tractors
ready to go to work for you when you’re ready to put it to work.
