Hello, Fellow 590 User Instruction guys! I am posting this tutorial for two reasons:
1. So I get more comfortable and hopefully less tongue-tied doing User Instruction videos, and
2: To show how little I got my Camtasia product embedded into the LibGuide.
This tutorial is intended to show you how to publish your Camtasia video to YouTube, then how to embed your YouTube video into your
LibGuide. The first thing you need to do once you've finished editing your Camtasia video is to open
up the "Produce and Share", and you do that just by clicking on a little downward arrow.
and you see 3 choices: Produce & Share, Share to Screencast.com, and Share to YouTube.
Now before you can embed this anywhere or post it anywhere, you're going to need to create either a screencast.com or a
YouTube account, and that's just so there's space on the web for you you to have the transitional area.
if we click on that produce and share
see it comes up with a little wizard guide, "Show me how to produce my video
and then there's another drop down and you can do that the blog CD etc. and down at the bottom
you can have the choice of Share to Screencast or Share to YouTube.
Since this video is for YouTube, we'll click on share to YouTube.
understand the 640 by 400, just the default dimensions, click next
it brings you to theYouTube. account credentials I'm just using my YouTube account credentials
clicking next
and then you have the option to Title it, give a Description, give Tags, and then give a category
that category has a whole bunch of different things. It already showing me, it already pre- pricked How-To & Style.
my title is "Test Video"
and this is to see how to get it into the
LibGuide. For privacy on a share my video with the world because it looks like there's a
limit of 25 viewings if I click the private, which won't do much good if
I want my LibGuide to be seen by lots of people.
then we click finish...
Oh, we have to give a tag! OK, so
Let's do LibGuide
finish
and then you'll see that it's rendering the project
and this takes a little bit of time just because there is so many
KB & MB of information to get up there.
It will automatically open up to
the account. "An error occurred - please try again later." That's just because the video is not yet processed. It take a litle bit...to...have it actually come up,
but the embed code is already here,
and then you a starts with the object
the word "object".
And we got the embed code by clicking on "Get Video Embed Code" link, and it shows up right here by the "Embed" click-y button.
So we right click, copy,
So we're going go to the LibGuide
and with the new
open it to the tab where we want to put it
I have my video tutorials to have already opened
going to add a new box
were going to add Embedded video/audio type
the box title is goning be Tutorial
and recreate the box
now we click on "Embed a Video/Audio Clip"
we right click
left click, then paste
and then click and "Embed it"
and you can see there's the test video
and that is how you put the Camtasia Video, produce it to YouTube, the put in in your
Libguide.
So how did I do? Any suggestions for improving how I do something?
Thank you!
