at long last the senate has passed their immigration reform bill sixty-eight
thirty-two after a hit massive amount of money was out of the forty six billion
dollars
for increased border security
uh... so that that's so the senate now as expected a couple of days ago has
passed it
and that was to the house where its future is a little bit more dates the i
would say
and so john bainer uh... after bela shooters also does the arizona actually
made it regarded as yet i think this is the beginning of the end of the
speakership it's not so easy to to to have been out as speaker uh... but it's
uh...
this is the beginning there
so uh... in the wake of bombers reelection just last year he had founded
like he was very much amenable to the idea passing some sort of immigration
reform bill
and now you get a call from him but it doesn't sound as certain this is what he
said recently
uh... the house is not going to take up info on whatever the senate passes we're
going to do our own bill for regular order
and there'll be legislation the reflects the will of our majority in the will of
the american people for any legislation including a conference conference report
to pass the house if you have to be billed as a support of a majority of our
members
uh... but the problem there is that what the majority of the house believes is in
no way a reflective of what the majority of the country believes they are about
as extreme as you can get at this point anexo karen entered into if not maybe
back enough so that that's the big big problem and we we alluded to workers
alluded to it earlier
but the way the house has been structured now it doesn't matter
uh... because if they vote against immigration and so will the people
uh... when they get home their districts are happy and it's been caught up so
perfectly that you don't have to cross your district and like like the bailout
part of this bill that hopefully gets
discussed and debated is the huge
giveaway to wall street interest right so we have a chord progression about
office three point five million immigrants who won't help after
citizenship through this bill to create a class system
within immigrants within the system
and secondly your funding billions of dollars for private detention centers to
hold on and and and even more money for for future border security so the
immigration community uh... if their voices heard in a four-door sedan isn't
jumping for joy over this immigration know it's it's certainly it's its
progress in that it is it is
leaning toward
pads and it's leaning towards uh... recognition
but listen i mean the the other the other side of the point here is it's
gonna be a long time
before a significant number of immigrant of our immigrant population specifically
are are latin hispanic infirm population
votes to support the republicans were voting against this anyway shelley that
does short term gains will not be realized for these people now house of
representatives which make you know which but it's also it's a build out
racism but you know people talk but there's been a build-up
economy now
this is about races and is that these people don't speak our language they
don't look like us
and they came here legally at just how everybody essentially came here along
time ago you know
temples camps
grandparents came here org or great grand parents are very great
grandparents came here
presumably from the netherlands or or germany judging by his last name
and and and that's how this country was founded and
that they forget that yet it's zena phobia on parade it's graciousness modes
uniformity essence it'll be on thread that's it
these are racist this is the braces inclination
and causes people
i don't believe any of the *** about this being about the economy and
jobs because economists
economist from mitt romney's campaign double salty can
who you don't get agree with that all politically but you make a nomic leak
this isn't economic boon for america have been immigration the political
expediency of people like john mccain who see this as a must do for the
republican party because they're gonna be hang themselves if they don't be a
is can be argued as racist as well amin we where was he hears ago when it when
we're building our economy on the backs of these people have been exploitation
and uh... you're not high on on high rpm
brings like that
where was he then only now when he sees the republican party losing votes
because of the shifting tied to the demographics is it something that we
have to do it ignites unfairly talking points memo actually just recently asked
them
if they don't vote for some form of him immigration reform can they were covered
time between sixteen
they said that he took along
but deep breath and said no yeah in so he's right that's possibly true meltdown
obvious question that comes out of this is
they've added the forty six million dollars for the border security
the pathway to citizenship is extremely long out there so it has no impact on
several elections uh... from here on out
do you think that the house is going to pass on and then there's eight
chanson held at the passing of an email have passing a bill that was anything
like the senate onsite coming off
passing any bill at all uh... not one i don't think that the senate that the
president will sign idon't think that it will be roof and i think that if he
makes the house look like fourths
for you know this is a as sixty eight to thirty two
how many times have you seen even i mean since bill clinton became president
have you seen sixty-eight to thirty-one important piece of legislation come out
of the senate pretty rare that you get fourteen
republicans come over the other side
i think so i think absolutely that that this is not going to come out of the
house represent us and have to
but you guys tell me
mit romney dot twenty nine percent of this panic mode in in two thousand
twelve you see one percent more
or like six path less next time i can see
who would have been willing to mit romney side
you don't think that it could be argued hispanic
version of the drama just ran in special election for senate investors yen's ed
markey ed markey didn't win this decisively as perhaps he should have
right i haven't thirty seven years in congress and the result of this in
spending time and money in that race either
yes so i don't know what the answer to that question is i think
i think that perhaps there are other bonus cuts characters out there that can
appeal to the speculative
while preaching
you know things like the co brothers to do that to the tea party preaching
practices that are any more than just hispanics
to appeal to the spanish yet exactly and uh... and that's not just happen and its
undercut by the fact that despite some republicans attempts to appear moderate
or to appeal rationally comes to this issue
every time they come out then fox's has another couple craziest friends say that
for interest we don't have time to play that for sure that phyllis schlafly
saying that
you know they don't have the morals that would work with our party like don't
worry about them ignore them yeah um... it's it's hard to fight
that when you have your own side running campaign ads against your side
