What is hypnosis? Well, the purpose of hypnosis is to bypass what's called the critical factor,
and that's your conscious mind. It's the uncritical acceptance of suggestion. When information
comes in, the conscious mind sometimes, deliberately or even unintentionally, will discard it without
even trying it out, where your unconscious or subconscious mind will take that information
in and then use it, and decide based on the effectiveness whether it should keep that
behavior or not.
