Hi! This is Bobby McGee from Bobby McGee Endurance Sports. There's been
some interesting
research reports lately on on education where
kids that do really well in in
in in academics at school, in in the training environment, as are not
necessary the same kids that perform well on standardized test.
And it's, it's been a quite quite interesting reading and listening to
to
to information about this and it and it brings up the same thing and and
training for for
events you know? Some of us are excellent trainers I always like to refer to them
as
people who train and and do
do particularly
well in training sessions and are able to
bring that out in into uh...
into racing.
And and that certain individuals who are solid trainers, average trainers but they
seem to be able to find
the ability to to race very very well and can get a lot out of themselves.
And so uh... one of the things that can help us if we are good trainers but we
fail to perform in races.
Is to work really really hard at creating environments in our training
where we are competitive
Again similarly in these studies with the kids they found that things
like spelling bees
which were enjoyable and and with the stress was variable and sometimes it was
high stress and sometimes it was low stress, but it was a competitive
environment
prepared the kids better and similarly
you know some of your training sessions have to be
completely easy and relaxed and very very low stress and some of your
more stressful workouts you need to create an environment which not only
meets the, the stress levels that you might expect in a race but should exceed
them as well.
That those streets levels should be able to be metabolized in
in an enjoyable fashion and be variable not just high-stress everyday
go out there
push yourself, push yourself, push yourself out because it'll shorten your career
and also the likelihood of you not being able to produce
performances in races because you're afraid of that discomfort and that stress
you know? which you are already experiencing
in your training environment
on a two regular basis.
So, you know? mix in the stress, bury the stress
move it up and down distinguish between Physical stress, Mental stress, Emotional
stress
and in that way prepare yourself for your best performance. Good Luck out there!
