just wanted to talk a little bit today about grand junction short sales we've helped a lot of
clients
in the Grand Junction area be able to sell their homes via short sale
I'm if it's been the only option that they had and again that's just
avoiding going to foreclosure and it's the option that we have before that
happens
this year with the Debt Relief Act that is still been extended which means that
the IRS will not tax you
on the difference so let's say you
there's a shortfall a fifty thousand dollars on your home the bank actually
has to give you
a 1099 and show that they wrote that amount of
but it obviously shows that you made fifty thousand dollars and the IRS could
technically tax you on that
with the Debt Relief Act in place that came out last year
and the extended it for 2013 you're protected from not getting taxed on that
amount of money
course I'm not an account so you would wanna talk to SEPA
to I get all the ins and outs of that information
however is a great opportunity right now that if there are no other options for
you stay in your home and you would need to sell
and you owe more on their home than what the market will pull for right now
a short sale might be a good option for you again we're here to partner with you
