Hi! I'm Carter. I go to Daniel Street Elementary School.
We have computers in our library and you can do lots of things on them.
I'm going to show you some of the things you can do.
Watch over my shoulder, OK?
This is my school's website.
We have a section called destiny that has different sections that I use all the time.
Let me show you some things that we can do.
First, I have to click on my school,
Daniel Street Elementary school.
This is Destiny! It always starts out in the library search section.
This allows me to look up books that my school's library has.
You can search by Title, Author,
or Subject. If I wanted books about dinosaurs,
I type Dinosaur in the Find field, and click on the subject button.
These are all the books in my library about dinosaurs! That's a lot, huh?
I didn't know we had that many books about dinosaurs!
I really like dinosaurs. I made a plaster cast of
a dinosaur footprint from a museum in Connecticut. But that's another movie.
Another cool thing is WebPath Express.
It has lots of general information and helpful web pages.
You can look up articles about current events
and other topics, and they change each month.
Sometimes I use the Homework Helpers
when I get stuck. It has videos that help you work out problems.
Some of the videos are even in Spanish.
That's pretty cool even though I don't understand them.
That's all I want to show you now. Ask your librarian what cool technology your school has.
[School bell rings]
That's the bell! I don't want to be late for class. Bye!
