Speed Painting in Acrylic
... and here the ingredients
After sketching the subject I prepare the canvas with butter.
I paint a brown stripe, like a branch
and dry the acrylic with a hair dryer.
Now I wash off the branch with washing-up liquid,
the places with the butter are removed then.
With a sponge I dab a few points of interest.
The whole thing is dried again.
Now it gets wet and I protect the floor with toilet paper.
The painting surface is wetted with water.
With liquid applied color a background is created.
Liquid color flows down in drops
and you can add bold color contrasts.
On the dried background are painted some blossoms.
First, the crude forms,
and the calyx.
Then the forms are further elaborated.
Now follow the details,
the wells in the flowers
and the shadows.
The petals are again emphasized.
Now I put some white lights.
This brings a more realistic effect.
Finally, a few decorative lines in silver
and so looks the final image.
Thank you for your interest.
