Army Staff Sgt. Michael Simpson, a Green Beret who died from injuries sustained in Afghanistan
on May 1, 2013, is remembered affectionately as "the unquiet professional."
In the days and weeks following Michael's death the Simpson family has been surrounded
by the extended Special Forces family, supporters and warriors as humble and big hearted as
her husband who seek to help in any way they are able.
Krista, Michaels wife states, "I really haven't had to do much except for grieve and take
care of my children," "I wish there was a way that I could repay them. But in reality
I never could repay these people for what they've given us. Reality is nor do they expect
it, just one of the many qualities you will see in a dedicated Green Beret that selflessly
serve our great country.
Mike couldn't wait to become a Green Beret, he was proud the day he joined his father
and brother in the ranks of the elite US Army Special Forces.
The family, community and support created by being a member of the Armed Forces was
one of the things Mike loved most. The Unquiet Professional foundation aims to support and
give back to the community that has given so much to the Simpson family. Visit theunquietprofessional.org
