The basement just looks like a big labyrinth.
It's all black, it's stinky,
there are dead rats by now...
When you get down here, it's a shady universe and it reminds you
the risk of the labyrinth
and the violence of the MInotaur.
We are four...
Me, I bring the sculptural touch
Usually I'm painting big blue walls with a lot of details
but here I decided to come back to my basis work, which is sculpture
and take this opportunity
to explore the impact of sculpture in the graffiti world.
The idea is to reinterpret
the myth of the Minotaur
with our common generational difference which is the graffiti culture
that we all try to develop to other fields.
So it's a modern version of the Minotaur,
with some little self-taught graffiti airheads... That's the problem !
The Minotaur would be seen on three quarters
and the right side of the head, the last right quarter, would represent
what's inside his brain.
So there are plenty of disturbing images :
there's a ***,
it's not disturbing but it's always a bit touchy
to put this in more or less public space.
It creates controversies, that is enjoyable...
We were talking about the free spirit of graffiti :
it also comes from it.
The purpose is to be the most sincere with what you have in mind
not to consider the seduction,
but to use images that could be disturbing for certain, or any generation...
So are the skull, the visible sex, the nudity...
