Did you know that fasting can be an excellent way to help cleanse your body of its toxins?
I'm Isabelle Simon, your personal and workplace wellness consultant, and today we're going
to learn ways to avoid complications during fasting. The first thing to take into consideration
is, talk to your doctor of your intention. If you have diabetes, fasting can lead to
complications, so you want to talk to your doctor first, and see the best step for approach
here, specifically for you. But what I would recommend in any, you know, program that you
want to do, is try fasting for twenty four hours first. A fast can last up to ten days,
but if you've never done one, experiment for twenty four hours and see how your body reacts
and how you feel. Things to keep in consideration is for you to drink plenty, I emphasize, plenty
of water. Typically, half your body weight in ounces of water is ideal. You may find
that you will want to drink more while you're fasting. Keep active. Go for a walk, ride
your bike, so that your blood circulates nicely into your body. Get plenty of sunshine and
fresh air. So if you go for a walk outside, you will kill three birds with one stone,
so, that's excellent for you. And then when you wrap up your fast, when you reintroduce
food, make sure that this is a very, very light meal. Remember, you haven't been digesting
food for a certain amount of hours, maybe days, so you want to introduce food very progressively,
very gently. You don't want to put any stress on your body. And, also, get plenty of rest.
And this is how you avoid complications when you're fasting. I hope those tips help you.
