Dowco’s fast-tracks sports and adventure tour luggage is a rock solid luggage system
that is truly a state-of-the-art system that is designed by riders for riders.
The fast-tracks elite luggage system consists of the fast-tracks tank bay, fast-tracks tail
bag, and the fast-tracks saddle-bag system.
The innovative system offers riders loads of storage for everything they need on the
road. A clear electronics storage area with audio power ports that will accommodate MP3
players, GPS navigation systems, hydration bladder port, and pack storage and map pocket.
The tank, saddle-bags, and tail bag--all sold separately--feature Dowco’s exclusive color-match
system, allowing riders to add a splash of color to compliment their bikes. All 9 interchangeable
color inserts are included with each bag--red, orange, yellow, blue, neon green, pearl, silver,
black, and pink for the growing number of female sports bike riders.
We went the extra mile on fast-tracks to create luggage that looks great on a bike and has
the storage and features riders are looking for. The fast-tracks system also features
lockable water-proof zippers and security cables.
Attach sew-in rain hoods, adjustable storage expansion, and convenient backpack shoulder
straps for easy transport off the bike. An adjustable heat shield on the saddle bag adjusts
for all types of exhaust configurations. The tank bag utilizes magnets and optional straps
so it can be used with plastic or metal gas tanks.
Tough, durable, and ergonomically designed, fast-tracks is constructed from rugged 1680
Deneer Polyester and offers a limited lifetime warranty.
Installation of the tank bag.
The fast-tracks tank bag can be mounted in two ways.
Strap-mount or magnetic mount. You must choose which mounting system is best for your application.
If you have a metal tank and are mounting your bag magnetically, extend all magnetic
flaps from tank bag.
Place and center magnetic unit directly on metal tank. Position magnetic flaps to conform
to tank profile. Ensure that the bag does not interfere with steering in full left or
full right position. If you have a plastic tank and are mounting your tank bag with a
strapping system that is included, fold side magnetic flaps into their adjacent pockets
in the base of the tank bag.
Remove your seat and locate long strap with single quick release. Thread the strap around
steering post, ensuring the strap does not interfere with the steering or control lines.
Locate the 32-inch long strap with one male quick-release buckle. Thread the strap loop
under the tank mounting or around frame under seat. Pass the buckle through the strap loop to
secure strap securely to tank frame or tank mount.
Place and center bag directly on tank.
Securely fasten steering posts strapped to D-rings on front of bag.
Securely fasten 32-inch long strap male quick release buckle to female buckle on back of
bag. Adjust all straps to securely position bag in desired location with rubber side of
strap facing all bike components.
Reassemble seat.
Prior to riding, verify that the bag does not interfere with steering full-left and
full-right positions. If you encounter interference, readjust bag position using adjustable straps.
Tail bag.
Determine whether you will be mounting the tail bag by itself or in conjunction with
the fast-tracks saddle bags. If mounting the tail bag only, place tail bag on tail section
of bike with carrying handle facing the reare of the bike.
Locate both 20-inch long straps with one hook. Secure straps to passenger foot-peg or suitable
fixed frame member on left and right side of bike. Connect straps to front d-ring on bag. Locate
29-inch long strap with two hooks and install 29-inch strap around tail section of bike
and connect to bag.
Adjust straps to create a snug fit on bike.
Ensure the bag does not interfere with indicator lights, tail-pipe, or any moving parts of
the motorcycle. If you encounter interference, re-adjust the bag position using adjustable
straps. The accessory bag that is included with the tail-bag is easy to install.
Center the accessory bag on top of the tail bag with zipper facing down. Connect all straps
to d-rings located at the top of the tail bag.
Adjust all straps to securely position bag in desired location.
Saddle bags.
Begin by verifying that there are no missing or broken parts. Determine location of exhaust
pipe. If the exhaust pipe is located under the tail section of bike, place cotton panels
on the back of the bags. This will help to protect the saddle bags from the heat of the
exhaust pipe.
Adjust cotton panel so that it does not touch the bike. If it does, it may cause scuffing
where contact is made.
Place the saddle bag harness strap over or under the seat or the fender area.
Loosen harness so that bags hang freely from the fender without tipping either too far
outward or inward.
Locate the front loop straps and secure around suitable frame member. Connect to d-rings on front of saddle bags.
Connect the saddle bags to each other under the fender.
Wrap straps around indicator and then fasten to the saddle-bag on the opposite side of
the bike.
Tighten side-straps.
Then rear-strap.
Saddle bags should hang straight down. Re-adjust if necessary and do not over-tighten. The
saddle-bags should be positioned a minimum of two inches above the exhaust pipes. Although
the bottom of the saddle bag contains an alluminized heat shield, care should be taken to maintain
adequate air-flow under the saddle bag to reduce exposure to heat.
Ensure that saddle bags do not interfere with indicator lights, exhaust pipes, or any other
moving parts of the motorcycle.
If you encounter interference, re-adjust bag position using adjustable straps.
Saddle bags with tail bag.
If mounting tail bag in conjunction with the saddle bags, begin by mounting the saddle
bags per earlier instructions. Place tail bag on tail section of the bike with handle
toward the rear. Connect one end of the eight-inch long straps with tail rings on the bottom
of the tail bag. Connect the other end of the front two eight-inch straps to the front
d-ring on the saddle bags. Connect the other end of the back two eight-inch straps to the
back d-ring on the saddle bags. Adjust all straps to securely position the tail-bag in
desired location.
Ensure that all bags do not interfere with indicator lights, exhaust pipes, or any moving
parts of the motorcycle.
If you encounter interference, re-adjust bag position using adjustable straps.
Proper maintenance of bags.
It is crucial to periodically check the position of the bags to verify that all bags remain
securely attached to the motorcycle and re-adjust or re-tighten where or when necessary.
To clean your bags, you may wash them using a mild household detergent and soft brush
to remove dirt or road grime. Rinse thoroughly and dry before using.
Changing the color swatches on your bag is simple. Simply pull swatch out of the pocket
on the side of each bag and swap this out with the color of your choice.
