Now let's see how to attach the strips of corrugated paper to make up our border, our
picture frame border for the stage. Now I've cut them all the same size. They're about
sixteen to eighteen inches. I don't want to make my border exactly square so I'm going
to take two of the strips and I'm going to actually cut them, make them a little shorter,
so now my border is going to have a more rectangular shape to it. So now I have two longer strips
and two shorter strips and I'll lay them out on the table and get them ready to be put
together. And we're going to need to make a hole in the corners for the fasteners to
go into the corrugated paper, so the skewers have a very sharp end to it and it's very
good for this. You can also use any type of sharp point, an Exacto knife or anything you
have handy, but the skewers work well for this. And then we go ahead and put the fasteners
into the corners. Now the fasteners we're using have a type of mouth to it where the
two pieces separate and that's what holds it into place. So once we have it inside the
hole, we go ahead and stick it through and then open it up so that it holds the corner
securely. I'm going to go put another one in so we'll have two on each corner, making
sure that the same side is facing up. And when I turn it over, I just separate the two
ends and it holds it into place. So you'll go ahead and do that for all four corners
of the border. First we make our hole. Don't try and push these fasteners into the corrugated
paper without making a hole first because you're just going to bend it and by the time,
if it is able to go through the corrugated paper, the corrugated paper will be all out
of shape and it's really not going to look nice and probably won't hold, won't be too
strong once it's already bent out of shape. So make that hole first before you put the
fasteners in. And now we see what our picture frame border is going to look like once all
the sides are attached with the fasteners and we see that it's nice and strong. I think
that it's a good idea to put two in each corner from my experience so you don't later on have
to start repairing your theater set. So this is going to hold for a long time. And this
is the way that we attach the corrugated strips to make up our picture frame border to be
placed on the stage.
