So on the G string there is an exercise you can do with your fourth finger because sometimes
what happens when you are playing third position on all the strings your fourth finger becomes
really, really low so something that you can do is practice a kind of see saw back and
forth between your first finger and your fourth finger and each time you are playing listen
to your fourth finger to make sure that you are playing the same note over and over again
and it is not becoming out of tune.
Really what you want to make sure is you are practicing a little bit of a hammer motion
and you don't want it to be too hard although you can do this and it helps you to reinforce
the note and try playing your fourth finger and putting it down a little bit harder but
it is really not necessary to have that knocking sound you really want to make sure that you
are playing the same note and you want to make sure that you are practicing having you
fingers stretched out as well.
