We haven't competed much with motorcycle riders, it was only in Morocco, to teach them that I am a co-pilot.
So, still I think that in Dakar it will be a big surprise for many people.
This year I was so busy with trainings and switching (from bike) to car, that I don't even know.
It is hard to say how people see me; as a motorcycle rider or a car driver. In the racing circle everyone knows me as car competitor.
But, when you search my name on the internet, you will see "Polish Motorcycle Rider". Clear.
The differences between car and motorcycle are huge. You use different muscles.
(For motorcycle) you need to be more fit. On one hand, motorcycle is harder because you can hit a rock, you fall, and you dont have a cage around you.
But, on the other hand, in a car you see less. So, for navigation it is way more difficult and also when you are riding dunes.
In the beginning, when you drive by car on dunes, you feel like you are driving a tank.
Because I was a motorcycle rider, and I was a good navigator, now it's easier for me in a car.
When I was riding with Marek in the beginning, I was behaving like a rider. I was watching the road.
Even now, I still do the same thing. Sometimes I tell Marek about things that are not in the road book.
I am excited about Dakar. Almost like I am going for the first time. Because I am competing for first time by car.
This going to be my 14th Dakar (competition). My first time by car. I feel the same as before my 13th Dakar, which means I feel no stress.
When I was a motorcycle driver I was packing totally different things in my luggage. The most important was to bring warm clothes, and now,
I don't have to. Now what's more important is good underwear, a pillow because we are traveling by RV, and I always bring to Dakar my Saints pictures.
So, also this time it will be in my suitcase.
The uniform I must wear during the race; Ear plugs because we will be sleeping in RV and I am sure that motorcycle (engines) will be starting early
And as usual, they will be waking us up. So, ear plugs will make it easier to sleep; And, third thing is underwear for changing.
I think that I've finished my motorcycle journey.
Of course, I will be riding for fun, and maybe someday I will begin with motorcycles.
But, I am sure that it will not be the same as before when I used to always be in training mode.
I think that maybe, from time to time, I will be training with my son.
I've crashed enough, so getting back in shape for me to compete is almost impossible.
Of course, I wish to do some motorcross racing in the future, if there will be a chance.
But mostly, training with my son.
