Mattis Refused to Be Late To a Speech, His Solution Is a Terrific Example to Troops
Theres a reason that Secretary of Defense James Mattis is so inspiring to the troops.
They respect how much he cares about them and the military and they know what an example
he sets. He had a reputation for adherence to the rules and the military code of conduct.
Even after all those years, that edict and devotion is still a part of him, from encouraging
the troops with visits to doing his own laundry at the Pentagon.
And on Friday, Mattis showed just how much he still adheres to that code of conduct.
From Daily Caller:
On Friday, Mattis was scheduled to speak to the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International
Studies.
According to his press secretary, Mattis was caught in unforeseen travel difficulties on
the way to a speech, which promised to make him late.
When it became clear that Mattis would not be making it on time for a speech he was to
deliver, the secretary took matters into his own hands.
Mattis got out of the vehicle, and ordered his staff to do the same. Mattis walked the
rest of the way on the sidewalk to the speech.Heres a picture that his press secretary tweeted
out of Mattis on the way to the event with everyone in tow, with a caption about how
Mattis refuses to be late, so he seized the moment. And this is why hes known as the
Warrior Monk.
He lets nothing get in his way. Obstacles better get out of his way.
Because Gen. Mattis is coming on through, come heck or high water.
What a great example for the troops!
