Hi! We're heading to the Olympics in Sochi
My name is Tamara Vinogradova and throughout the Olympics
I'll be your guide around the capital of the 21st Winter Games
We'll begin our journey by exploring a unique double-decker train
Which for the past 3 months has been plying the route from Moscow to Adler
The journey takes about 25 hours
This is the view from the first floor
And here's the train itself, cosy and comfortable
There's quite a steep staircase, which isn't very convenient if you have a suitcase
The view from the second floor isn't bad either
Let's find out how passengers while away the time on the way to the Olympic capital
Let me introduce my wonderful fellow travelers
This is Galina and Konkordia from Arkhangelsk (a city in the north of Russia, 1200 km from Moscow)
Tell us what you're doing?
- We're making large pompoms to cheer on the Russian team
They'll make it more lively
The pompons will double up as ornaments in the form of northern cloudberries
Athletes and fans around the world will see them during the Games
We've arrived at the train station in Sochi
I should note straight away that the taxi situation here is strained
You need to wait about 20 minutes for an official taxi
There's no wait for private drivers, but they're charging 500 rubles, instead of 100
I've finally made it to my hotel with the historic name "Princess Anastasia"
Despite the huge number of messages on the Internet, these dogs are my neighbors
They're quietly sleeping here at the seaport, no one touches them, or tries to chase or shoot at them
From here a stunning view opens up of the whole of Sochi
My hotel is located right on a ferryboat. But to get to the port, you have to pass three security points
