So before you give your first recital it's a good idea to actually set up a mock recital
at home. And if you a, like to play in the living room I would say that the living room
is a good place to have a mock recital. If you're accustomed to practicing in your room
I would say it's a good idea to try and move your space over to the living room type area.
Kind of a large space so that you can kind of give yourself a general idea of, of what
a recital could be like. And again, when I was really, really young I used to set up
like a, you know, stuffed animals, dolls and stuff like that, kind of creating a little
audience. But really you can just have your parents, you can invite friends, you can invite
relatives over just to give yourself an idea of what it's like to play in front of even
a small audience. Even by having this type of mock recital it'll help you when you go
on to your real recital even though it's not quite the same thing it will still help you
get the practice that you need. So that when you do play the real recital you won’t be
as shocked by the whole experience. And again you want to practice all of the body language
and the body positioning. Pushing your violin and also maybe making a marker of having a
pretend piano here as well.
