My name is Sarah Khan, and I’m studying Medical Biochemistry. I didn’t know anyone
that came to the University, but when I came to the open day it just felt like a great
place, so I still decided to come here. The facilities are very good, because when you
go to the library there’s several floors and there’s always books available on your
course. On my course, there’s a lot of equipment, science equipment such as autoclaves, centrifuges.
My faculty, I think it’s very friendly and everyone gets on with each other,
and the science building isn’t very big so you can get to know
a lot of people. I get along with my tutors pretty well because we have a lot of support
and experience to give and they’re very friendly and they’re always there if you
need any help with your coursework.
There’s always big groups in lectures, but different lecturers have different lecture
techniques, so there’s a mixture but you’ll find
something that suits you. I’m currently on a work placement as a lab technician in
the science department, which I’m finding very enjoyable and hopefully I’ll
learn a lot of things which will help me in my final year. I’d recommend the course
because there’s a mixture of things to do. You’ll find something that you enjoy,
so there’s a lot of variety, so if you’re looking for a lot of variety and you’re
still not sure about what to do at University, this is the course for you.
