Today we're going to fly the Multiplex MiniMag
I just finished building it and I made an addition, It was a pretty easy build
I made a quick connector to make it simpler to take on an off the wing. Now I don't have to connect two small servo connectors each time
-What's that stick on the top? This? It's the screw that's going to go here
-OK, did you remember to bring the screwdriver? Yeah I did
A 9*4.7 on there, and now I had planned to fly the first flight before I put on the stickers
It feels unnecessary if I crash..
-Is it only one screw holding the wing? Yep, It has a block in the back to hold it straight, and the wing loading is low
Looks good
Oh yeah, I added a LiPo guard for three cells that tells me when it's time to land
Lets see, maiden flight of the Multiplex MiniMag
-Remember where I'm sitting
Wow, nice thrust on this one
What are you laughing at? Here we go!
-Fly more to the right Right? this way?
Oh it's so cute in the air
I can feel the wind -There's no wind here?
That's because we're in the shelter of the trees
It feels very stable. Calm and nice.
I really need to get some stickers on it -It's hard to film when it's all white too
-Don't fly further that way now - What? Don't fly further left than that
Shall I try a roll? You got it? Oh it's so slow
It made it -Why wouldn't it made it?
I could have crashed
It's a little susceptible to the wind. Can tell by looking at it, right?
It needs pretty large stick movements with the recommended throws but that might be expected since it's a trainer
It's gentle and nice, very easy to fly
Very easy to build as well, the manual is very clear CA it together and you're good to go
Unfortunately I'm flying on a tall grass field so I cant test the landing gear today
-How much longer are you going to fly? Not that long
-I lost it
Turning the motor off
-How does it glide? I think it's good even though the break on the motor doesn't seem to work
I want to get some altitude and try stalling it
I have now shut off the motor and now we'll see how it stalls
-What? It refuses to stall!
It's very hard to stall it Oh birdies!
It was really hard to stall -Try it with the motor on
Yeah, if I use very, very little motor
Ok, it refuses to stall
I'll point it upwards and shut off the motor... It recovers really fast
It's so stable I like it a lot
I'll take it around and land it
Uh oh, it will be to far -Where's it going?
It glides better than I thought. It just continued to glide. It didn't want to come down
Wait a minute, I have flaps on this model
That's so beautiful It's so cute
That's a good machine. Flaps to help with the landing, I can recommend.
I enjoyed flying it. I can see myself flying extremely slow with it. I'm going to put the stickers on now.
I also bought the pontoon kit and a video of that will be coming soon if I don't include it in this video. In that case you will see it soon
Oh yeah, you can't see...
I'm I B? -Yeah...
Maybe it's time to quit now. Shall we go home and eat?
Thumbs up!
Ok we're going to try flying on the water. I have mounted the floats and a water rudder
-Is it supposed to be a blue light on? Yep, it's more visible now
We'll see how it does on the water
-Don't underestimate the landing distance
=This I have to see Sure, sit down and enjoy
=Have you built it your self? Yep, it's just finished
=Is this the first fligh? No, I was out earlier today and flew on land
Ouwow -How's it going?
The camera must really be struggling to keep the focus now -I'm testing out the manual focus
=There you must have got a nice shot of it?
-We'll see how it turns out
It flies gentle even with the pontoons on
I'll take it up now, it's getting too dark..
