PRESENTER: Rosa in Donosti, good morning Rosa.
Hello, good morning Juan Ramón.
Listen, I wanted to point something out to you
and also to Mr Pons,
that on the 23rd and 24th of June in the European Parliament,
approval is going to be given to something called The Euro Pact
which nobody is talking about.
This 19th of June
We have to say
NO To the Pact of the Euro
Because it is a socio-economic assault against social rights
Your rights
We in Real Democracy NOW! Are the movement of the 15M
of outraged citizens who went out in the streets in multitudes
on the 15th of May last, taking the streets and the squares
of the Spanish State.
The new date is 19-J, to denounce openly
just what it is the Euro Pact entails.
The Euro Pact is the pact of the big banks of Europe
and international banks too.
The Euro Pact is an attack against the citizens of the Union,
especially those of the poorer countries,
such as Greece, Portugal, Ireland, and, of course, Spain.
All of us have been suffering as a result of anti-social adjustments
and cutbacks for more than a year.
The Euro Pact, or the Pact of the Big Bankers,
what they want to do is guarantee
that the debts the national banks of Greece, Spain have taken out
with the big German and French banks, be paid till the last euro,
even after these banks have been behind speculative lending,
property bubbles,
and easy credit,
through which they have been making immense fortunes -
their shareholders, boards of directors, advisers and bosses,
think that now that times are tough,
all of us citizens should pay for it.
You only have to see Greece,
which is on the verge of going to the wall.
But it is not Greece: it's only Greek citizens.
And after that can come Portugal, Spain, and Ireland.
It is an outrage that the Euro Pact,
the Pact of Banking Speculation,
which has no precedent in the history of European capitalism,
is being conducted behind the backs of the citizens,
and that the European Members of Parliament,
whom we all pay for with our taxes,
are deceiving us, behind a wall of silence.
The only thing it does is harm the interests of the citizens,
and, of course, preserve the interests of the Masters,
which is the financial power of the banks,
especially international German and French banks,
and of course, also of BBVA and Santander,
which, we have to bear in mind,
that our Spanish State, the government,
has already devoted and injected 30 billion euro!
30 billion euro they've taken out of pensions by freezing them,
they've taken it from credit to small firm owners and SMEs,
who see how their businesses are shutting down
day in day out, driving up unemployment..
because we have to save the banking sector!
The banking sector never loses.
How is it possible that the BBVA, and Santander
which have made immense profits this last four years of crisis,
can't afford to suffer losses,
but meanwhile citizens can suffer losses?
This is an injustice. We must stop the Euro Pact.
We citizens have to take the streets,
whether of the Spanish State or of European citizens,
and say enough!
The Euro Pact must not be allowed to happen.
Everyone united against the Euro Pact.
For a Social Europe, of the welfare state.
Of social rights.
We will not allow for these social advances,
these advances of the welfare state -
because of the greed of the bankers and speculators
to go to blazes.
All citizens stand up!
All citizens against the Euro Pact.
That's why
The 19th of June Take Your City
Take The Street
