Hello and welcome ladies and gentlmen! My name is Chris and this is "What You Need To
Know!" about Thief. Thief is a reboot of the cult classic single player franchise by the
same name and is considered the fourth installment in the series. It is being made by Eidos Montreal,
the creators of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
The story of Thief takes place in "The City" which is the actual name of the city you play
in. Upon returning to "The City" you find it's ruler
"The Baron" is ruling the city with an iron fist. To make matters worse there is a plague
known as "The Gloom" which is running rampant amoung the population. These conditions have
left "The City" brimming with class warfare, internal strife and political upheaval. It
is within this setting that you play Garrett, a master thief looking to use the chaos to
his advantage.
Being a master thief you will use the darkness and suprise to your advantage as well as some
creative tools of your trade. Your bow along with it's many attachments like water arrows...
or rope arrows... will be your primary tool of choice. If you choose to get a little more
personal with your enemies you can rely on your "Black Jack" to leave your mark. The
pace of gameplay is similiar to that of the original splinter cell. Lots of sneaking and
hiding with bursts of action and quick decision making to get your heart pumping. Don't let
that worry you though since the developers want you to play the game your way.
Each mission will have multiple ways to access your target and get out, allowing you to choose
how to handle each and every situation. Choose to be a predator in the dark and strike your
foes with percision or be a ghost from begining to end and never let anyone even know you
were even there. The entire game can be completed without having to take a single life if you
wish. In between each mission you will visit "The City" hub which will allow you to access
side jobs and infilitrate random houses to add more coin to your pocket. These side jobs
range from stealing from the wealthiest mansions in the city to discovering the dark and mysterious
cults that hide in your beloveded shadows.
The game's difficulty is highly adjustble. Aside from the typical easy, medium and hard
you can choose smaller details such as: restarting each level upon detection or even the entire
game after being detected. So while you can't act like a street thug looking for fights
in the light you can tackle problems just the way you want to. For those looking for
a bit of assistance you have the "Focus" ability. A helpful but not unique mechanic highlighting
enemies, valuable objects and secrets that fill the world around you. Truly Thief is
a game appealing to both the casual ninja in us all or the perfectionist master thiefs
we dream to be.
If Thief interests you it is being released on Feb 25th for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and
Xbox One. If you enjoyed this video please don't forget to like and subscribe to show
