Hi, it’s Steve from PartSelect. Today we’re going to show you how to change the pump housing
filter in your dishwasher. It’s a really easy job; all we’re going to need is a #20
torques bit. Let me show you how we do it.
Now to begin this repair the first thing we’ll do is open the dishwasher door and remove
the lower rack and cutlery basket and set those aside.
Ext we’ll remove the center spray arm that unthreads from the top of the lower spray
arm. You can lift that off and set it aside.
Then lift off the lower spray arm.
Next we’re going to remove the six #20 torques head screws that hold the pump cover on.
Now we can lift that pump cover off.
The filter may be attached to the bottom of it or it may still be sitting in the lower
pump housing.
Simply pull that out, clean any debris that may be in the groove that the filter sits
in as well as on the portion of the pump that it sits in.
Then we’ll take our filter and we’ll roll it into a circle, clip the ends together;
there’s a couple locking tabs to hold it in place.
Once we have the filter connected we’ll set it into the pump cover, make sure it sits
firmly in the groove all the way around, and you may note that it’s not perfectly round
when it sits in there; we’ll have to make sure that when we insert it into the pump
that it fits into the groove properly in there.
Line up the screw holes in the pump cover to the pump base; carefully maneuver it until
it sits flush with all those six posts the screws go into.
And now reinstall those six screws.
And again make sure that the pump cover sits flush; don’t use the screws to pull it tight.
Once we have the pump cover secured remember to put the lower spray arm seal in place.
Just slide that into the opening in the center.
There should be two of those seals you may find one of them still stuck to the spray
arm. Make sure that they both fit into that opening in the pump cover.
Put our spray arm on next and just turn that lower spray arm; make sure it turns freely
and that it isn’t scuffing on anything.
Next we’ll put the center spray arm on. Tighten that up. Again make sure it turns
freely.
And now we can put the racks back in, and our repair is complete.
Told you it was an easy job. Thanks for watching, and good luck with your repair.
