Now we're into Thursday. Thursday, for the most part, tends to be a little bit more of
a relaxed day. You probably come in a little later in the morning, staff meeting; coach
will talk about what time we're going to leave if it's an away game and what time we're going
to be in for Saturday's game. Break off, chat as a staff. It's not as in depth of a conversation
as it has been, but, again, the game plan is pretty much is now tweaked and finalized
on Thursday. So, what we'll do is, the staff will meet, talk, and brainstorm a bit. But,
it's really just, alright, here's the deal, it's in concrete, this is what we're doing.
Then we go into our position meetings with the players and explain to them any last minute
changes, any finalized deals that need to be made, get their feedback, watch more film,
take questions from those guys for about an hour. It's out to practice which is usually
just uppers, which is helmets and shoulder pads. It's more of a glorified walk through.
You still get a lot done but it's not full contact. More of polish to make any last minute
corrections make the kids feel very comfortable with the game plan for that week. Once that's
done, we break practice. The kids have a chance to go in and eat training table. Coaches will
watch practice, not as in depth as you did on Tuesday and Wednesday. Make any last minute
corrections, get on the phones again with your recruits, start calling those guys, planning
anything you need to plan out for Friday. Once that's done, get home; spend some time
with your family. Usually, Thursday won't be as late as Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday
and Wednesday where you're getting out at about 11 or 12 at night. Thursday, I would
say, you'll be out of there between 9 and 10. Then back in for a later morning on Friday
if the head coach is a good guy.
