In media news, a popular Ethiopian TV show provides educational programming to as many
as five million enthralled youngsters. “Tsehai Loves Learning” is the only children’s
television show in the nation in Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia. Created
by Bruktawit Tigabu and her husband Shane Etzenhouser, both members of the Bahá'í
faith, the program uses adorable puppets and animation to approach a number of topics.
These include the alphabet, numbers, and shapes, as well as hygiene and moral lessons. The
empowering and often life-saving information is also delivered to youngsters without TV
access through books, community screenings, and road tours.
Kudos, Bruktawit Tigabu and Shane Etzenhouser, on your fantastic endeavor. May it help bring
the precious children of Ethiopia to an ever bright future.
