Hi, my name is Joe Bonamassa and welcome to music radar. I figure you guys want to go
through the rig today so let me start off by just explaining what I use. We start here
with a 1987 silver jubilee 100W head. They are a great head, I use these exclusively.
This is the only amp in the whole set that is always, always always on. It's a really
great sound, it's the best Marshall pre-amp head that I think they ever made. Then we
go to the category 5, this is basically a clone from 1968. It's a Joe Bonamassa model,
it has a special mid boost on it to kind of bring it forward. We go to the 2Rock custom
signature. It's basically just a 100W you know, 2Rock which is pretty straightforward.
This is the signature one not the signature two, I do like the ones better than the twos.
This is the Van Weelden twinkleland which is basically a Dumble clone, you know it's
a clone of an overdrive special, pretty straightforward. But a masterful job done in making this amp
and it's a beautiful, beautiful sound, I love this amp a lot. Speaker cabinets are made
by Mojo music supply, in North Carolina. And Speakers are EV 12Ls for everything.
I like them because you can't kill them and they just have a very pure sound so whatever you
push into it it kinda pushes back out. Over here in the rack we use an SSL pre amp for
acoustic guitar, run that through an EV wireless. The twinklelator goes to the twinkleland amp
which is basically a buffet effects loop, tube effects loop for the twinkleland, which
you can basically vary the amount sent and returned, and you can also vary the amount,
you know it adds a bit of tube compression to it. Um, the pedal boards, pretty straightforward.
Pedalboard, straightish, you know straight ahead Vox wah-wah pedal, the layla abc switch
that I love. Fuzz bass custom made by Dunlop for Eric Johnson but he didn't like this particular
one so he gave it to me, which I like very much so thank you Eric Johnson, thank you Dunlop.
Um, gas pedal, kind of a clean boost and kind of fudges with the bottom end, it's
pretty nice texture to it. Tube screamer 808, just a standard issue and a DD3 Delay, and
that's it!
