hello everyone Michael here from the daily S4 youtube channel. Today, let's
look at the improved touch screen on the Samsung Galaxy S4 that comes with
a new mode that's called "high touch sensitivity" and what this mode is
there for is to help you during the winter season when you got gloves on.
for example, say that you have thick gloves on and you'll run into this problem
you will find that you can't get to anything other than the home button
and you really don't want to take your gloves off when you don't have to
because it is so freezing out, and if you had a note 2, the S Pen definitely helped
a lot in this situation or maybe you carried around a capacitive touch
stylus
but taking those out may seem like a chore every time
especially when all you may be wanting to do is a simple swipe and a single tap
every few minutes
now these are really thick gloves that don't work on a traditional capacitive
touch screen
what you needed in the past were capacitive touch gloves made with a special
thread
and these gloves will just work anywhere on any smartphone with ease, but regular
gloves, unless it is really thin,
just doesn't work
well, it looks like Samsung has solved this problem and i do think it is somewhat of
a big deal for the winter as in terms of convenience
if you live in an area with cold winters
so what you can do is go to setting
→my device →display. Scroll all the way down
and put a checkmark on "high touch sensitivity"
now, it works with my thickest gloves and even the capacitive touch buttons on the
corners work well
if your gloves are as thick as mine though
if you just do it lightly, it won't register
you have to press down hard
and just to show you, it will not work on the slightly less new galaxy note 2
no matter how hard you press
one more scenario, it also works with leather gloves
although it won't glide around like glove made out like cotton, it still
works
so far, I haven't noticed that it gets in the way or anything
maybe it requires more power to operate in high sensitivity mode. Or maybe...most
likely it is because when you have the high sensitivity mode on, and you have
your phone in your pocket, even with a case on, it may keep the screen on because it
is reacting with your skin through the clothing and the cover while it is still in
your pocket
so, this feature will be great for the winter but maybe it would be best left
off outside of glove wearing weather
so that's it for this video. I can see this being a big deal for some and I
personally will be getting full use out of it when winter rolls around again
if you know someone who would benefit from this feature and is thinking of
getting a new smart phone please share this video with them and don't forget to

once again, thank you for watching
