Using Release Conditions and Intelligent Agents,
you can truly personalize the student learning experience.
Using Release Conditions and Intelligent Agents in the Learning Environment,
you can let students view new or additional content
based on their performance with previous activities and content.
In this example, I'm going to show you how to release an Extra Credit assignment
to a student who achieved a certain grade on a previous quiz.
In the course content tool, there's an extra credit module,
and inside that; an activity called 'Extra Credit Assignment 1'.
To apply conditions to this activity,
select Edit Properties from the drop down.
See the line called add dates and restrictions?
Select that and you'll see Release Conditions.
Hit Create, and you'll get a list of the Condition Types you can apply.
At the bottom are some different grading based conditions.
You can choose from grades on a Dropbox assignment, on individual grade items,
or set conditions based on specific quiz scores.
Say you want to release the Extra Credit assignment
based on a student's performance on a quiz.
In this example, the Astronomy Practice Quiz.
You can assign Extra Credit work to students who scored 60% or less.
Choose Create and then Update
and now only students that get 60% or less on the quiz will see this assignment.
Students above 60% will never see it.
For the same assignment, Intelligent Agents help you send automatic emails
to users when they've done really well.
Just select Create and Attach
and then scroll down to the Quiz section and choose Score on a Quiz.
In this case, you would select "Greater Than"
rather than "less than" and write 85%.
This action sends a congratulatory email only to a student who gets 85% or more
so Choose Create -- and then scroll down to write your email.
In the message box you can edit your email,
and Replace Strings make it simple to populate the student name,
and help you further personalize the message.
You can use that in the to and cc fields as well -- it's that easy.
You can push out assignments easily to students
and help you personalize their learning experience.
