So Randi, come in to my bathroom. And what I want Randi to do is to go through some items
here and educate us into the ingredients and reading the labels. So what do we have here?
The first thing that I see is lipstick. Did you know that the average American woman will
end up swallowing ten pounds of petroleum byproduct from wearing lipstick on a daily
basis. That is because most lipsticks are made with petroleum byproducts. So, read the
labels, by lipsticks that are made without petroleum byproducts. What's so bad about
petroleum? Well it comes from a highly toxic substance, petroleum, and when you ingest
it into your body, even in trace amounts, obviously ten pounds is a lot, but that's
through trace amounts. It's through licking your lips with your lipstick on daily. What
about like this, this has petroleum in it? Yea, I would never use this, ever, no. What
else? So here we have a basic moisturizing cream, hand cream, here's the list of ingredients.
You start reading down and you see one of the most common causes of contact dermatitis,
which is swelling, rash, break outs. It's the number one dermatological problem is allergic
reactions to this ingredient: diazolidinyl urea, and it's in 99 percent of all personal
care products. So, even if we can't pronounce it we can certainly learn how to.... Well,
you know what the rule is is that if you can't pronounce it you shouldn't be having it in
your body. It's like, the things that you could actually, if you had our skin care products
that we use, you could actually eat, because they're so pure. And that's sort of the litmus
test, if you can't pronounce it and you can't eat it why would you put it in your body or
on your body? Good point. Why would you let it go into your skin? The next thing that
we see is common baby powder. The key ingredient to this is talc, it's a filler, it doesn't
do anything. It just clogs the pours and causes dirt and debris to stay locked into the skin
and it's why a lot of babies have rashes. But then you start putting the talc on them
and it increases the rash. So you start into this vicious. Your skin can't breath. Your
skin can't breath and you start into a vicious cycle.
