When I was six, I think I wanted to be a teacher.
What I wanted to be was Spiderman.
I wanted to be a ballerina.
When I was six, I wanted to be a dancer.
Probably a police officer.
I wanted to be an astronaut.
I wanted to be a paleontologist or something with dinosaurs. So completely off track from being a lawyer.
I came to UALR as an undergraduate to play soccer.
I applied within a 10-hour radius of Birmingham, and I got a scholarship here. So I said, “Hey Arkansas!”
I knew I wanted to go to law school in Arkansas because I wanted to practice here and I’m from here.
When I looked at the law schools in Arkansas, I chose Bowen because of the public service element.
Whenever I decided to go to law school, I had taken about a year and a half off.
I kind of wanted to stay close to home. I love Little Rock, so UALR is the obvious choice for me.
I applied to Arkansas schools to go to law school, and I was very pleased that Bowen accepted me.
I went to the pre-admissions programs that they have and I was very impressed with what I saw.
My favorite class was FOI, Freedom of Information.
I think that my favorite class was probably Property, because the subject matter was my favorite.
My favorite class was Sales, just because I’m very interested in business.
My favorite class in law school was Advanced Civil Procedure.
My favorite professor is Professor Sarah Hobbs.
She expects us to be a lawyer every day in class.
You have to respond like a lawyer; she expects you to know the law like a lawyer.
You get tested as an attorney every day, and that’s what I came here for.
My favorite teacher in law school would have to be Professor Michael Flannery.
He’s just a great teacher. He knows how to entertain and he knows the material.
The number one thing I am going to miss from law school is all the friends that I have made.
It was the most unexpected and the most favorite.
The number one thing I will miss is probably all my friends… seeing them everyday.
The thing I’m going to miss most about law school is the friends – the people I have met here.
Today is a good day. I’m graduating; my wife is graduating.
It just feels like sometimes when we were in law school that it was dragging on forever,
but today it feels like the time has flown by.
I’m really excited.
Today is fabulous.
Excited but overwhelmed.
I’m very glad I stuck it out for the three years.
Today I feel awesome. This is the best day of my life.
Congratulations Class of 2011!
