In this screencast I'm going to go over how to create
and manage a protected blog at Penn State. Here you can see the create blog screen.
And there's now an option to protect your blog.
If I click that box then a
page comes up that explains some other restrictions and features that protect the blog.
After reading this, I decided I still want to protect the blog.
So I'm gonna click make my blog protected, and just as usual,
I'm going to give my blog a name.
And select a template and click create blog.
Now that my blog is created, I'm going to publish it.
Now I want to
grant access to users to view my blog. I'm going to go to
manage, users, and I'm
gonna click the link that says, grant user permission to view this protected blog.
That link took me to the Access Control Manager for my
protected Penn State personal web space. I'm going to
restrict access based on access account user id's.
I want to specify some user id's to
add to the list to view this blog. I could also specify
a class list or group selecting the other option.
So I'm going to put in an access account user id
and say, ok.
I could also put in a last name.
And then select the user I want to add.
Now that I'm done adding users,
I'm gonna click next and I get this confirmation page that lists everyone
who has access to this specific blog directory.
And that's all there is to it.
