Hi. I'm Doug. I work with twenty great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods
and we are going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. When you are doing a structural repair, which
this little job has sort of turned into, we are cutting away that inner body member. That's
actually a structural member of the car. It's part of the material needed to keep the car
rigid. If it were a more substantial structure member, we would have to brace the car. This
piece here is more of a crash protection piece than it is an important key element in the
car's structural rigidity. So we are able to do the repair here without major re-bracing
of the car to hold it stable while we do the cutting.
