What comes to your mind?
What doesn't come, since things do not come to your minds?
The right day for you will be the one when things come to your mind.
There are three acts of thought.
There are three inventions, ever since the child.
The child, between two or three years old,
is superior to Mozart, because Mozart, in a few years more,
maybe just one year more than that, learned all about music;
child only needs two or three years to learn
something no less complex than music,
that is the language.
The child secondly does something else,
that Mozart did not absolutely do:
the child made himself a harpsichord.
Mozart found it ready in his room,
thanks to daddy, and after that,
the child is at the very origin, chronologically at the beginning of
all the harpsichords he procured himself in his life,
a jumble, we have to say, of organs,
apparatuses, from the vocal cords
to the breathing apparatus, tongue, cheeks, lips and so on
obviously to the central nervous system,
not yet ready to the linguistic operation,
and the child assembles, day after day,
this jumble of organs and apparatuses
so that they play as harpsichord of his tongue.
Here it is, this is the first invention of the child,
made by himself, even if it is true
that he takes the phonetic elements of language for the outside.
But great ability is needed to be able to
accomplish in the transformation work of the raw material,
to translate it into something else!
The language is the result of the child's activity
on the raw phonetic material.
I give you a second example of it.
The child extrapolates the datum from nature,
that we call male gender and feminine gender,
and recreating, as we say that the creator creates,
he recreates them as the difference between genders.
So what does the difference, the passage, the act consist in?
It consists in doing, in transforming the pure perceptive datum
once again raw material,
because perception is always active,
so that the perception is already raw material,
is processable (raw material means I might still work on it),
and it transforms the datum of difference between sexes to make it operable,
and operable to an advantage.
It is not true that that at the start there is an advantage in having two sexes.
The two sexes, as a possible source of advantage, is a neo-creation,
is the passage from the raw material to something that did not even exist before.
The difference of sexes is a product, not a datum of perception.
My third example of effect of the act of thought.
It is the child or the adult the one that creates the principle of pleasure in the recreations.
At the beginning, as cats and dogs,
we only know a difference between pleasure ad displeasure.
Thought is able to transform pleasure in a conducting principle,
steering, and as a principle, just like John's Gospel says
that in the beginning was the Word.
In this case, the childlike thought managed to create a principle.
We have to avoid to fall into this trap.
Transforming thought in the object of an investigation.
It is the thought itself the one who sets the starting line,
as principle of pleasure, difference between sexes,
language and the harpsichord of language, ever since the child.
Philosophy should start from these three examples.
Philosophizing should start from these three examples,
which means saying that the child initiates the philosopher
and does so with no distinction between psychology and philosophy.
