This is Martin Schervington. And in this video, I am going to show you one
technique for setting up your YouTube channel and for choosing the best name
for you or your business. Now, this is assuming you haven't already done this
via Google+ through setting up a hangout on air. So the first step on my
demo account is to click on my name, and that brings up these options. Now,
sometimes with YouTube things move around but the general principles are
likely to stay the same. And the first thing we want to do is set up my
channel. So I click on my channel and that will bring up a box. And if I wanted
to be known as m.scherv, then I would just click okay. There is, however,
another option. If I click onto use a business or other name, you will see
that I can choose a name if it is available that the channel will then be
called. If had a business called Zippidydoodah, for instance, I may try
and secure that name. And when a username is taken for a channel, then
there are other options given to me. But here is the thing. You have got to
think. You have got your business name, and if you can't get that actual
channel name, be a bit careful what you choose instead because some of these
options may not be that good. So you may want to have a little rethink about
how you approach it. When you do decide that you are going to go for one,
you simply click on okay, ready to continue, and you are then set up with
your channel. One last tip, it would appear that capitalizing a letter within
the channel name shows it as capitalized on the channel as well. Once
you have done that, you will find your YouTube channel is set up. The next
thing you are going to want to do is add in some channel outs and you are also
probably going to want to have a tour of some of the features. So I have
created some more videos if you click on the annotations and you will be able
to run through everything you can do with YouTube. This is Martin
Shervington. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel for a lot more handy
hints, tips and tricks. How_to_create_your_YouTube_channe
