Today on this 2011 Ford Escape, we're going to test fit of Part Number RX5079277 from
Rain-X, this is the latitude windshield wiper blades. There are two things to know about
this part is that it's designed to be a replacement all-weather windshield wiper blade. It has
contoured bean-style frame that applies pressure evenly across the windshield and the rubber
squeegee has built-in UV inhibitors to help protect it from the sunlight. First thing
we'll do on our test fit is go ahead and remove the original blades. With the two tabs located
on the arm that we have to squeeze together, they will push up and away from the arm. The
hinge on the Rain-X Wiper Blade is actually the wrong style, but it does come with the
correct adapter. So, we'll take off the original hinge off
the blade through this small tab, we'll push it up and then slide the hinge forward a little
bit and it'll come right off. Now, we'll install the new adapter part for it and slide it into
place. Now, we can go ahead and install the new Rain-X Latitude Windshield Wiper Blade,
we'll line up the hooks on the adapter with the arm, and push the tab into place and we'll
make sure that the cap snaps back into place. Once it snaps and clicks, you know it's secure
and you go ahead, and put it back down. Now, we're done with the driver's side, we'll repeat
the same process over on the passenger's side.
