[Text: How to Apply a Screen Protector]
[Text: DoIT Geek Hannah]
>>HANNAH: If you've got a touch screen device,
adding a screen protector can help shield it from
scratches and scuffs without reducing sensitivity.
But, they can sometimes be a little tricky to apply.
[Text and Image: Tricky like a Rubik's cube!]
So today we're going to show you a quick and easy
way to apply your screen protector
[Text and Image: Fish saying "Give your bubbles to me!"]
while avoiding bubbles and smudges.
[Text: Application Expert]
Before you begin, make sure you have everything you need.
Some computer screen cleaner and a microfiber cloth,
the screen protector that you want to apply,
and either an ID or credit card.
[Text: DoIT Geek Craig]
>>>CRAIG: All right, so we first want to start
with our screen cleaner and microfiber cloth.
You just want to spray a real little bit of
screen cleaner on the screen.

>>>CRAIG: And then you're going to take your cloth
and you want to get that real nice and buffed out,
[Action: Buffing out fingerprints and smudges]
you don't want any dust on there. Any little
smudge is going to be amplified ten times by the
screen protector.
[Action: iPad screen is clean and free of marks.]
When you start your application, not only
do you want to have the bottom corners lined
up really nicely on your device, but once you
peel off the protective film, be careful not to
touch the adhesive because it picks up your
fingerprints really well.
So, in lining up the bottom corners of the protective shield,
[Text and image: Wizard saying "Use home button or be vanquished!"]
with the bottom of your device, the Home button on
an iPad also makes a good point of reference.
Once you've got the bottom corner stuck down,
[Action: Using ID card in a back and forth motion to remove bubbles.]
you're going to take your credit card and you're
going to slowly work side to side toward the top
of the device, working to keep the air bubbles
toward the edges. Once you have applied your
screen protector, you want to look around the edges
and make sure that you don't have any bubbles,
especially on things like the corners or along the sides.
If you do have bubbles, take the edge of your card
and just work it real nicely to push the bubbles
out toward the edge of the device.
>>>HANNAH: Once your screen protector's been applied,
it's best to wait a couple of hours before
using your device again. That way you don't
have to worry about your screen protector
sliding out of place.
