>> We've put in place a structure called "UCL Advances."
That is actually going out and training our students,
staff in the basics of innovation and entrepreneurship.
>> UCL Advances carries out three major types of activity.
The first thing that we do are events and networking
so that we can bring people together
that might form collaborations between university
and business in the future.
The second thing that we do is to offer training
so that we can encourage people to interact more effectively.
And the third thing we do is to develop
and signpost support schemes that enable those interactions.

>> Just to see that much passion and that much going
in UCL really I think that this--
you know, there's obviously a lot, a lot to be had here
and I think it's the place to be if you're interested
in business and entrepreneurship.
>> They've gone away and they're thinking about UCL,
they're thinking about the entrepreneurial things
that we have to offer and hopefully they'll want
to come back and follow up on some of those.
That's what this evening is really all about.

>> So today we've had the first day
of our first three-day enterprise boot camp.
And the enterprise boot camp is part of UCL's response
to the current economic crisis.
>> They gave us a few ideas about what entrepreneurship is
about and how to work in a team
and also we got practical experience of being in a team
and trying to figure out what our strong points are
and what we can do together.

>> I think it's tremendously important to recognise
that what a university is about in this day and age is not only
about research and teaching but also about transferring the use
of research to application
to support things actually happening
and changing in the world.
