Hello ladies and gentlemen I'm Jon Coker, better known on the stage as Flo Motion, and
I'm representing Animotion Entertainment. On behalf of Expert Village I'm here to show
you the basics of a dance style called Popping. Popping is a dance style that originated in
California in the 1960's and in was innovated by a man named Boogaloo Sam. Sam and his dance
crew, The Electric Boogaloos, took this dance style to parties and battles all over at the
state of California and it ended up going up to the next level. By the 70's, Popping
was one of the hottest dance styles of its era. Let's get started. First things first,
you got to warm up. You're never to old to do Popping. Actually Popping came from watching
older men walking down the street, they actually get a lot of their moves from that. We're
going to start off with some warm-ups that get you nice and warmed up in the chest area,
in your legs, anything that you're going to be using while you're dancing. What we're
going to do off the top, we're going to be flexing all these muscles right here. I want
you to start with your hands, flex everything all the way throughout your whole body. You're
just going to flex on counts of four, and then release for counts of four. OKay, watch
me. So ready, five, six, seven, eight. Flex, one, two, three, four. Relax, five, six, seven,
eight. Flex, one, two, three, four. Relax, five, six, seven, eight. Alright, now you
do it with me. Ready? Flex, one, two, three, four. Relax, five, six, seven, eight. Flex,
one, two, three, four. Relax, five, six, seven, eight. Flex, one, two, three, four. Relax,
five, six, seven, eight.
