MIKE LOPEZ: Hi. I'm Mike Lopez with Expert Village, and today we're going to be discussing
the black color from "Magic: The Gathering". And now I'm going to discuss "Highway Robber".
"Highway Robber" is a very powerful card. It's a utility card from the basic set, and
the reason it's a powerful utility card is because it is going to give you a very very
powerful ability. It's a "Human Mercenary," and Highway Robber cost you 2 and 2 black
to play, which means the this card with a converted mana cost of 4 is giving you a 2/2
creature, which means it's going to have an ability. Well, this ability is very powerful.
When "Highway Robber" comes in a play, you gain 2 life and target player or target opponent
loses 2 lives. What this is means is, that when he comes into the play, not only you're
going up 2 life, which is very rare for black deck, for a black-colored card, but your opponent
also loses 2 life. Now, this is very powerful because this is not damage. This cannot be
prevented by any white enchantment or anything that prevents damage, or anything that prevents
anything with sources because loss of life can never be prevented.
