Over 2000 years ago, around 300 BC, Euclid wrote the book called The Elements. Although
Euclid was Greek, he wrote the book in the Egyptian city of Alexandria. I can understand
him moving there. Alexandria had a great library. But it burned down. ::sad sigh:: Euclid's
book "The Elements" teaches you all about classic geometry and even some number theory.
The very first thing in "The Elements" is a definition of a "point." Euclid's definition
is "a point is that which has no part." Hmm... It's puzzling, but sometimes the simplest
things are the hardest to describe. Another definition of a "point" is something that
has a specific location, but does not have a length, width or depth. In other words,
it has no size.
