Alright so if you want to make your videos ADA Compliant you have to correct
captions. And to fix that on most things if you upload to YouTube. I can click on the
close captions and click on the English Transcribe. If I play it works but it is not correct all
the time so we need to modify this. So in youtube when your logged in under you Video
Manager. Go to Captions. And you will see basically your video on the left. You can
either upload a caption file or a transcript or you can use that active transcript.
So that thing where you upload videos to youtube
it automatically creates a caption track based off of their speech detection technology.
And When you click on that you can see the points so this is the caption for this part.
So I can press play. So I notice a little bit of an error. You can see that I can update.
You can see I Goofed up on this one a bit but I am able to go in and modify manually.
Most of the stuff is automatically put in there correctly but their will be small little
issues Like instead of Astah it said star. And I don't know what star scottie celebrity
means but I will have to go in and modify that.
When I am done I can just go in and click
on done. That will fix the track so that when the users actually see it, they see the correct
captioning. So that is a real quick way to fix your captioning and make all your videos
you use in your tutorials ADA compliant and this is all done automatically but a lot of
people don't actually look at the caption track to see what it is translating too.
It is much better if you fix it and that way
people who are deaf can enjoy your videos.
