Welcome to Epi Info 7 training.
In this video you'll learn to create an Epi Curve in the visual dashboard.
I'm in the visual dashboard and I've lready loaded the E. coli project that's
included in Epi Info 7.
If you look at the top,
this dataset has 359 records.
We hope that none of the controls in this dataset have a value for onset
of illness.
But just in case
we're going to create a filter to only include the sick.
On the right, we'll mouse over the data filters tab,
we'll select the field name of Ill,
the operator is "equal to",
the value is "Yes".
And we'll add the filter.
If you look at the top of the page we now only have 276
records that correspond with Ill.
And now we'll navigate to the Chart analysis gadget,
and Epi Curve comes up by default.
The onset date field in this dataset is Onset Date.
Now we'll click Generate chart
and here is our Epi Curve showing the onset of illness by day.
You've just seen how to create an Epi Curve in the visual dashboard.
