My name is Matthew Bornheimer, my major is social work and I am entering my senior year.
Well today is our last day of school at Fratney, so we all kind of walked over to the park
and we just had a really fun day. Well I work through the organization called America Reeds
and I tutor kids in literacy and math. That's about half the time I spend at Fratney. The
other half I spend volunteering. Umm so during that time I spend a lot more time working
with like ethnicity and working with community behavior and trying to help the kids you know,
understand the proper ways to act amongst each other and towards adults and towards
other kids. UWM is a really awesome place because it's in such a, such a urban setting,
we live in such a diverse urban setting. It's like we have all the tickets of a big city
but it's all kind of smushed down into Milwaukee and it's awesome especially for social workers.
And that's why Helen Bader School for Social welfare is so well renown and why its so highly
toted because for one we have great instructors and we have great people within the faculty
we also have this really really great setting to have the school within for people to branch
out and try all these different things that really advance us as social workers and get
us ready for our careers.
