Welcome Faculty and Advisors to the tutorial on how to access and log into SSB (also known as Self-Service Banner).
All contracted and adjunct faculty are automatically granted limited access to basic information in SSB including
Class Rosters, the Course Catalog, Alpha Course Listing, Directory Information, Faculty Schedules, and Grade Entry.
Advisors may also see a list of their advisees.
To begin visit: think.stedwards.edu, and from the quick links listed on the right click on My Hilltop.
Login with your current St. Edward’s user name and password.
Then, click on LOGIN towards the bottom left of the screen.
Once you are logged in you will navigate to the hyperlink under Access Banner called SSB.
Click on that link and this will take you to Self-Service Banner.
This is the home screen in Self-Service Banner (SSB) Select the Faculty Services Menu Option.
This will display the Faculty Services Menu with the available tools
Lets explore the menu.
The Student Information Menu allows access to student data such as transcripts, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail, degree evaluation.
Term Selection is used because you are required to select the term for options that require a specific selection of a valid term.
If no term has been selected for the current SSB session, this option will be displayed.
The CRN Selection is used to select a Course Reference Number (CRN) for options that require selection of a CRN.
The Faculty Detail Schedule displays the faculty member’s schedule for the selected term.
The Week at a Glance displays faculty schedules by day and time.
Classes that do not have scheduled meeting times or have time conflicts are listed at the bottom of the page.
The Summary Class List is the same as the detailed class list with the exception
of specific course details.
By clicking on final grades instructors can enter or update final grades and attendance hours for a class.
Only final grades can be entered on this page.
Selecting Active Assignments will list all of the faculty member’s class assignments that are considered active.
There is no term-selection requirement for this option.
Assignment History will display a list of instructor’s class assignments, both past and present, regardless of status or term.
The Class Schedule provides a listing of classes scheduled for the selected term.
The Course Catalog provides access to the SEU course catalog.
Users may learn what courses are offered and can access course descriptions and prerequisites.
The Syllabus Information page is used to maintain
syllabus information, learning objectives, required materials, and technical requirements for the course.
Office Hours is used to maintain the instructor’s office hours for a class.
If you have finished reviewing the Faculty Services Menu, it is important to Sign out.
On the top right side of the screen click on the Sign Out link.
