Bismillah Al-Rahman Ar-Raheem.
I am the father of the martyr, Al-Mue'tazz bi Allah Al-Sha'arah.
My name is Mohammad Bashar Al-Sha'arah
Four weeks ago we were in Seer'aan and we were returning home
we entered the Masjid (mosque) Shaykh Abdel Kareem Al-Rifaa'ey.
And I am narrating to you the story [with Allah's permission] in all honesty, and I swear by the quran
that this is what is happening in our country
we went down, we were in dumar and then we went down to masjid Shaykh Abdel Karim al-Refa'ey
we prayed and then we went out..
...and the sermon (khutbah) was calm and neat {organized}
and there was no incitement or provocation
we went out, surprised to see security forces in very, very large numbers
And they were armed.. with electric batons...clubs...and chains
And we saw the killings of innocents and so on
that got to us, we couldn't bear it
We are not affiliated with any faction, party, or any organization...and we are not part of anything against the government
We just saw that our family are being killed
So Mue'tazz bi Allah al-Sha'aar age is 22 years old,
a student in Damascus University first year law school
It really affected him...the beatings of security police against the protestors...beating without mercy
with sticks, on the head...wherever it would land; the first jum'ah (friday) passed
we went to the second juma'ah again to masjid Shaykh Abdel-Karim,
and this time they were worse, they brought workers [from the district] and garbage-men
they gave them sticks and chains and batons so they could beat the people, doing so with criminality
and so the youth Mue'tazz, with all these stories and the blood of the people that is being spilled...the innocent
And the following jum'ah after that one, he said "Dad this shouldn't be happening...this is blood, not water!
These are our family...in Dara'ah, here and there.
..so we have to get out." I told him an eye does not face a punch...they have guns, weapons, so and so...nothing can come of this (from us facing them)
He said, "Oh, dad let me die a shaheed (martyr)
rather than be a disgrace with my family, my relatives...with Dar'ah, Homs, Banias, and the rest.
"We don't want anything...we just want to stand..to make our numbers more, with more people..so they don't single us out
Because they are criminals, they don't fear Allah
The next friday passed; the third friday we went...
Again with the third friday, it was the same story and situation, it was just a little calmer.
Now, in this friday we prayed in Sham (damascus) in the midan (square)
after salah (prayer) we left, there were some protests...with all this, there was no single protestor that had anything, just walking with his bare chest (not armed)
we left, and it finished...we went to Dair'ayah, I live in Dair'ayah.
I went to Dair'ayah to my house and I found the street closed so I parked the car; and there was a group of people
So he said, "Dad let's get out, dad they have already assembled and anyways there is no way to get home
so we got out of the car and joined everyone else
...and all his chants were peaceful, and of freedom...he didn't ask more than this
and he didn't hold or take up anything in his hand that would harm the security forces
His fate were these two shots
I came to save him....He bled for about 15 mins on the ground...
So, they attacked me with the sticks and these are the marks on me...and I was hit on the head, even on my arms and legs...all this with their sticks.
I told them, "He's bleeding, just help (save) him!"
And they took their time, with all slowness...elongating, wasting time....kept on going like this, until....
we ran out of time
So, his going out was all to support his family (the Syrian people) who were being killed in all districts (in cities)
And in regards to the gangs...like they said, armed gangs..we didn't see anyone of the protestors with even a stick
So, the gangs that we saw with our own eyes...that were clear..with the will of Allah, I am speaking the truth
All of it were from the secret service and the regime's security forces of the President Bashar
This is the story in its entirety and detail.
There are no armed civilians or people, there are no armed gangs
It's all lies, in lies, in lies...fabrication against the people
We are all peaceful, we asked for freedom,
We asked for those who've been held 40yrs in prison to be released!
That was our request... that was the blasphemy we committed against the state
He also has two other brothers, who were also detained...one in 9th grade and the other in 11th grade
They were also detained....
... La hawla wala qoowata ela billah (there is no power or strength except through Allah)
Inshallah (God-willing), I will be following his way....he offered himself as a shaheed (martyr)...
for this nation, for the oppressed
O'Allah in the first level (of paradise)...of course, God-willing
La Hawla wala qoowata ela billah
Inna lil Allah wa enna elayhi raje'oon. (To Allah we belong and to Him we return)
O' God of the worlds, may Allah accept, may Allah accept.
And this is today's date, shown on the newspaper
